💕I’ve thought long and hard about what this new program means to me. What I hope to help it mean to my girls doing it with me. I still can’t quite sum it up, but I F E L T what I wanted it to be today.
➕I had a pretty rough start to the morning, but God’s gift to me was a loving husband who raced home so I could do my very first workout with a woman that truly has changed my life, Mrs. @alliupham 💕
👭It’s the craziest thing about what we do, following people who motivate and influence you, and the next minute you’re working out side by side, doing what you love, together💕
🙏🏼It was Gods grace to me that I just happened to get to do workout 1 of #80DAYOBSESSION with her AND her girls live via ZOOM! It was so inspiring to see these women that she loved so much working out with us, laughing with us, sweating with us. Of course it reminded me of my girls and just how INCREDIBLE what we do is. These little pockets of people helping people🙏🏼💕
🙌🏼IT WAS THE PERFECT way to kick off this program and fill my soul with complete and utter J O Y. ⠀

God is so good. He always knows exactly how to deliver exactly what I need at the time when I will be able to appreciate it the most.💕
CHALLENGING POSES // so I think everyone has those kind of poses that just won’t work because we all have different bodies and so on. Here are mine: ⭐️middle splits is one of those — don’t know if I ever gonna learn it! My hips are just saying a big NO. ⭐️inversions: I have to practice them daily so that I can see little results or that I can just hold a headstand and keep the balance. It’s super hard for me to find balance when I am upside down. ⭐️Heart openers: those kind of poses definitely are depending on how my mood is. When I feel “open” and comfortable — heart openers are my favs but when I have a bad day my body says no to heart openers. And then sometimes you fall on your ass. But it’s okay cause you’ve eaten enough Taco Bell in your life to soften the fall 😂 I’d also like to say that I’m not too great at transitions on or off the mat quite often. I LOVE how you can watch someone’s yoga practice and learn about their personality. I have some students who are timid and hold back - these are usually the people who lack confidence in themselves and don’t always stand up for themselves on and off the mat. And then I have the students who push themselves to do more than they should - these people are usually the super intense emotional people on and off the mat (like me) who steamroll right over you. What does your practice say about you?
Regular stretching will free up large amounts of energy within the body.
Identify the areas in your body where you hold blocked energy/stiffness and focus your stretches there.
Yoga is the best way to incorporate this type of awareness into your life🧘♀️

SOUND ON: SECOND #YOUTUBE video alert!!!! As many of you know, I am a certified Yoga Teacher. I didn't do it to make money, teach (I actually swore I would never teach), or get more flexible. I did it to learn about something that I grew up with and had grown to love. You see, I got hit with clinical depression after losing 20 pounds due to weight lifting and clean eating. My depression took a real bad physical toll on my body. I wasn't eating had no energy to move and was dehydrated. I couldn't step foot in a gym. So I turned to gentle yoga, which helped tremendously in my recovery process. After moving to Atlanta, I started doing more of a vinyasa flow (more athletic) and really enjoyed it. I wanted to learn it all! So I entered a teaching training program. I had gotten so comfortable, I needed to get outside my comfort zone and conquer something that terrified me. Well, I did. Now the second thing that terrifies me is the reality of being a yoga teacher in the West. I am not a size 2 (or even size 4) contortionist and never will be.
