3:45am alarm? Im usually an early bird, but right now I think I’m a cross between a baby giraffe and exhausted pigeon. 😂 10 miles - 2 mile repeats on repeat x 3 at 5am has me feeling 😴😴😴 but I’m pretty darn happy with my splits this morning (7:37, 7:42, 7:47, 7:42, 7:43, 7:43 👊🏻). I officially start my Boston Marathon training in Feb with @runarete_sacramento 💙💙 and while I plan to “train to race but run for fun” in Boston, I’m certain these workouts are laying the foundation for me to be more than ready to tackle my sub 3:35 racing plan for Chicago Marathon! 🦄♥️ Thanks for the awesome workout this am ladies! @email@example.com@cmazzarun 💙💙

11 more days until the #miamimarathon half. It’s been a couple of ice days in the Houston area. We got that @chevronhoustonmarathon in just in time. A good freezing run comes in nice for cleaning up our internal breathing pipes. It feels good but it can get dry quickly. But it is Houston and it will get hot and humid again very soon. Very hot and very humid..... very soon.

Great day running with the local run crew! Cold but am loving my new custom #nikeshields as they took on the slush, puddles and ice along our running route! I'm a believer! 🙌🙌

It's been wonderful and horrible. I gave this year my all, physically and emotionally. IT'S HARD FOR EVERYONE 👊🏼 in winter. Keep on fighting against the little voice after which after a long day of work or early in the morning says: I can't be bothered. Remember your upcoming goal races (spring half or full marathons, summer ultras etc...) or simply the feeling of well being running gives you and go out. Think about injured runners who would love to train but cannot these days! .
Life can get in the way of course so try your best but do take into account the level of stress you get in your pro or personal life outside of running. Adjust the intensity/duration accordingly. If your kid did not let you sleep properly for the last 2 weeks, take a day off or go for an easy 5k instead of a tempo 5mi run for instance. .
The message here is just that everyone is having a tough time training during winter (in europe at least 😉). It's not just you. However if you want to achieve your goals of 2018 you must keep on training the best you can. It is also important to not let stress and anxiety ruin this beautiful training journey because you missed a workout or ran less miles than expected last week.
