I wanted to share a tip that I've found helpful for anyone trying to build strong and toned legs!
As tempting as it may be-don't over train!!!! If you're gonna train legs heavy Monday, don't do leg-oriented HIIT/long cardio Tuesday, and then do a hypertrophic leg workout on Wednesday! Over using any muscle group without giving it a chance to RECOVER and rest won't allow for it to grow! Remember- you're actually in a catabolic state during your workouts, meaning muscle is being broken down! It's the other 23 hours of the day where the muscle growth *should be* happening. .
If cardiovascular activity is part of your program, combine it with leg workouts (i.e., the same training season) when possible. Then wait at least 48 hours to hit that muscle group again. If you're doing HIIT with upper body muscles such as battle ropes, the same theory goes. .
🔥M: heavy legs + uphill sprints/bike/jump rope
🔥T: hypertrophic upper body
🔥W: 'active' rest day (yoga, easy walk)
🔥R: full body, very high rep, + HIIT
🔥Sat: hypertrophic/endurance legs + steady Star cardio
🔥Sun: heavy upper body
Work. EAT. Rest. Repeat! .

Follow us and keep learning how to work out the right way
Day five of the @mansports#manpersonalbest 60 day challenge!
Managed to get some active core work in between corporate session today! Planks are among the best abdominal exercises out there, but once they become easy to do for an extended period of time it important to find ways to make them more challenging.
Find ways to add motion, instability, and difficulty to workouts that are otherwise easy for you to do to avoid becoming stale or slowing progress!
Stay tuned tomorrow morning for more updates! Stay safe in the ❄️, #HSMFamily 😘

“Learn from the past, live in the now and be optimistic about the future.” So often we stress about things in life that are in the past that we no longer have control over. This causes unnecessary stress and anxiety to your life that is completely preventable. You’re bound to make mistakes whether it’s at your job, in your relationships, or in the fitness world. It’s important not to dwell on the past mistakes, but rather learn from them. I swear you will be less stressed and happier when you do! 💜
