Does the amount of likes you get on social media tell you anything about your worth? I used to think likes and comments were a measurement of my "coolness". I mean, if lots of people liked my picture that had to mean that I was likeable, right?
Nowadays I realise that the amount of likes I get don't say a thing about who I am. Likes don't define me, they don't make me a better person. Changing my FB profile picture used to be total horror. I'd check if I had new likes every single second cause it would be embarrassing if almost no one liked my pic. .
"Lucky" me went to 3 different high schools so with such a big network I usually got lots of likes. I remember people telling me "you must be so popular and have such an amazing life"😎 Yet I felt lonely as fuck and barely had any friends💔
From all those people who used to like my facebook pictures pretty much non of them have asked me how I'm doing now that I'm sick. Those likes were just that, a simple like. they did not portray any kind of real interest in me as a person. .
I know you may look at people with lots of followers & likes thinking that they are worth more than you (I used to think so). Let me tell you something; Likes, comments and followers don't make you a better or more interesting person! Focus on the people in your life who are there for you, who care about you! That is what's important!
I know it may mean less to you coming from me, a girl with a huge following, but I hope it will still open your eyes! I'm an influencer, my worth gets calculated based on numbers. Sure, that 350K sounds great but what means the world to me are those individual people who read my captions, are involved in my life and who truly care. That's what makes my eyes tear up! .
And yes, even a single sweet message can be enough. Stop looking for quantity and start looking for quality!❤ Seriously guys, one good friend is worth much more than a thousand likes!
Ps. I'm extremely grateful with the amount of sweet followers that I have. I shared me waiting for a comment on my fb pic yesterday to show you that I'm also just a human being. I was truly amazed that some of you went to Fb and left a comment❤ Lucky me
