**GOOD NEWS STORY** Good morning #Preston! It's not all doom & gloom so with great pleasure I share a fantastic good news story involving our South #Lancashire#Police#Cadets
Back in October 2017, 30 of our fantastic #Volunteer Police Cadets completed a sponsored walk from the New Continental Pub on #Broadgate to Lowther Gardens in #Lytham, a total of 12 miles. To make this feat even more amazing it was completed under very heavy rain and an amber weather warning was in place due to the infamous #StormBrian!
The walk took a total of 6 hours and they managed to raise an amazing £1,541 for St Catherine's Hospice, Lancashire this walk was in aid of Nicolaas Martinus Kleinhans who sadly passed away from cancer last summer, Nicolaas was an active helper of the Preston Police Cadets even going as far as assisting them with their #DukeofEdinburghaward.
I'm sure you'll all agree; a MASSIVE congratulations is in order to our fine cadets!

⚡Wood River Nebraska - This was the last night of the last trip for an @natgeo assignment on the Ogallala Aquifer. I had bedded down in the blind when the cranes started to land for the night just outside… then the storm rolled in. Sand Hill Cranes are the grassland birds of the great plains. They migrate from Siberia to northern Mexico. They counted 413,000 Sandhill Cranes on this evening… more than they’ve ever counted before. These conservation groups are working like crazy to keep 20 miles of the Platte River braided and perfect habitat for the cranes that come through their area.
