And…history seems to repeat itself, but for the best this time! Here are Steve and I at Stark expo today. It’s Steve who gave Tony the idea to install this old-school photo booth. Stark wasn’t convinced at first because “it’s so low tech it’s not even funny, Rogers! And there are apps for that now! Nobody is gonna be interested in something they can do themselves on their smart phones!” but guess what? It’s a BIG success and you have to wait for about 2 HOURS for taking a pic. Though this photo booth is more recent than the one we had in 1943. It dates back to the 1980’s. What do you think of the result? I really love these pics. Of course, advocacy groups like “One Million Moms” are gonna whine again that Captain America is a “pervert” that he shouldn’t behave like this because THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!! What are they even talking about? We are role models who are sending youth a positive message: love your boyfriend, take silly pics with him, kiss him and slowly bite his lip, that’s it! I’m kidding kids…never do that!! Just put your tongue very, very DEEP into his mouth, until you can feel the esophagus, that’s how you do it properly. Steve, stop sighing and putting your head in your hands. Everybody knows you have a boyfriend and a sex life, and it’s not as if half of America didn’t already have a heart attack when they learned about us anyway so, relax. Most people are over it and I don’t give a flying f**k about the ones who aren’t. And also, from some of the pics I already posted on my Instagram, our fellow citizens must have certainly realized by now that when we are home, alone, we aren’t knitting stars on the American flag to pass the time. I mean, look at what we did this morning for instance, the living room table didn’t survive!! Once again, EVERYBODY CALM DOWN, I’m joking: it was the kitchen table. We should buy a new one by the way, Steve? STEVE?
Hot Toys of the month, finally! Unfortunately I'm still figuring out the new phone/camera and all the white balance settings seem confused about my room, so I can't promise the colors are their best. Anyhoo, Civil War Captain America who I got in...I want to say January. I've taken him out, but didn't take any pics of him setup until now. He is not easy to set up, BTW. He's my only modern Cap from Hot Toys so I don't know about AoU, Avengers, or Winter Soldier, but this guy can be a pain. Particularly changing hands, especially if you're putting the shield on his arm, but also changing his head out, which tucks the spandexy collar of his under shirt down, even using the little tool they provide, and then getting it back up is a pain. Speaking of parts, he comes with 2 heads, 1 unmasked/Steve head, and then a head with the helmet/cowl. That head has an extra jawline so you can swap between his mouth being closed or his angry gritting teeth face. For hands he comes with a pair of fists, pair of grips (for grabbing the straps inside the shield), a left hand for throwing the shield, right hand that's open, and a right hand for pointing. The shield is diecast so it has a little weight to it and will probably scratch easily so be careful. It also makes the stand necessary for most poses (unlike my WWII Cap). The shield has removable straps (which is how I suggest getting the shield on/off his arm and into his hand) and a little black clip so you can remove one of the straps, attach the clip in it's place, and hang the shield on his back. His other main accessory is Brock's broken mask. And the usual Hot Toys nut hugger stand. Detail on the suit is pretty damn awesome as of course is the head. He's got great ROM in the legs, but I had problems getting his arms to stay in whatever pose I put them in. I don't know if it's because the suit is so thick in the sleeves or the weight of the shield or both, but I'd get his elbow bent close to 90° and it would bounce back. Or I'd get his arm stretched out and the shield would bring it back down again. (12/13/17 day 347)
