Amazing Sunrise...I have now seen Sunrises and Sunsets on 3/4 of the North American Continent. Thank You @jbrubberboot for capturing this moment for me... Only one place missing now...Northern Frontier. #Breathtaking#Solace

This is how I've felt this weekend. Just quiet. More introverted than usual. Wanting to be on my own. Less talking, less movement and usually more eating.
It often isn't until the time has passed that I realise why! You'd think I would have copped on to it by now yet it surprises me every month! Yep, every month! ❤MENSTRUATION❤
A few years ago when I was at a yoga retreat, we ended the evening talking in a big open group in a cosy sitting room. There were women of all ages. Everyone in the group sharing experiences. One woman really inspired me. She spoke about her experience on menopause. How wonderful it was (Yes! Shocker!). How she discovered such wisdom and strength during this time. We don't often hear this. In fact, we hear the opposite. How it's going to be terrible. We have already decided it is going to be hell before it even happens.
This woman told us how every month during her menstruation years, she needed roughly 3 days to herself. To rest. To relax. To be on her own or with her sisterhood for support and solace.
When she took this time out, she never had pain, or cramps or crazy irritability.
I have been working on this since that retreat. It's a constant practice because let's face it, I can't just lock my door for 3 days and ignore the kids, or work or the school run!
But what I can do is key. I can do less. I can prepare for this time. I can turn my phone off more. Unplug from the outside world and turn inwards. And I can definitely go to bed earlier and exercise less. And keep nice chocolate in stock!!! When I do this for myself, I have great energy for the rest of the month.
