One of my goals in 2018 is run for the moment you're in. Whether that's the mile, weather conditions, or how you mentally or physically feel. .
Today I got out of my comfort zone and ran 12x400s on the road. The icy track wasn't an option and I could have run on the temperature controlled treadmill but neither are where I race. .
I was rewarded by my efforts and averaged 88 seconds per 400. I've been hard on myself lately because I don't feel like I have a good feel for my fitness but dang...I feel good about this workout!
I ran 6 miles today to make 25 for the weekend.🏃🏻♀️In the super cold, 6-7 miles is about my limit, so yesterday's run was done inside! lol •
I signed up for 30k Around the Bay on March 25th! @bayracerun I've always wanted to run this race, so I'm excited! I've been wanting to get back to running full marathons so this race is the perfect way to ease back into the distance. Having a big race to look forward to is also perfect for keeping me motivated in this weather. ❄️
Happy Sunday!! ✨
Last night's track run was harrrrddd!!! After a fast run the night before, and strength training in the morning, my quads and hamstrings were really feeling it, with every step. I also joined a group for the first time and we did longer intervals, which made it even more challenging. But as I was feeling the pain and that slow burn in my legs, I reminded myself that this is what we're here for... To push, change and grow... In all areas. We can only expand and become our best self through this pain. It can be so hard in the moment, when all we want to do is just give up and go easy, but I think about the future and focus on the #goals I'm striving for...and don't let that momentary pain hold you back #tracktuesday#runningthemarathonoflife#nopainnogsin#spiritual#physical#fitspo#trainhard
This is how you feel after a 6am swim session. 🏊 #wakker
Opnieuw zwemmen omdat het lopen toch nog kniepijn veroorzaakt. Morgen nog eens een kine-bezoekje doen en volgende week naar de specialist! 🔬 #nopainnogain
‼️PSA‼️: if you see something weird, step up and say something. Today after my workout I went to the locker room to shower. While ladies are often on their phones texting, on instagram, or even finishing up a phone call, I saw one girl holding her phone out as if she was about to take a selfie. Looking closer, I realized she was video chatting with a man, who was clearly looking around her. Around her to see women unknowingly being exposed. Changing, in towels, the locker room stuff. I immediately said something to her and she was very defensive but got off the phone. The women who were around her were appalled and angry. Some of us may choose to post pictures in sports bras and such- but that is a choice. Not having the choice and being exposed is unacceptable! Please- be mindful of phone use and be aware of those around you... this incident restated the impotence of being present and alert, and taking action when needed. ***********************************************
Successful interval work on the bike. 4 minutes of hard resistance followed by 3 minutes of moderate. A heart rate blaster! Barre to finish and my PT exercises of course!

This hill. This hill right here was the first hill I faced in my first ever half marathon. It kicked my butt. Today, I returned the favour.
When I read that I had a hill workout this morning, I knew exactly where I was going. I was heading back to a hill that had taken so much out of me in a race, to show myself, and the hill 😂😂, just how far I’ve come.
Primed and ready for a hilly 8k race this weekend. Heading back to Win City, it’s been real Montreal, au revoir.
