5 snowy miles!! No watch, no music. Just me and the crunching snow beneath my feet 💚 Kept the miles easy and loved every one of them.

Good Morning, Friends! This was my first tempo run in a very long time and it actually went better than I expected. 4 miles at 8:20 pace then 4 miles at 8:06 pace. I kind of set my paces slow on purpose, but faster than I have been running. Next week I will cut them down some more! I hope everyone has a great day! 😊💕💕
Running with friends is always more fun. Got to get out for an early morning run with my good friend and local fast runner @stoppre72 .
Bonus end of the run #selfie
NYC Marathon 2008 was what I consider my first fast marathon. Before the start of the race, one of my friends from when I used to live in Vegas, told me I would run at 3:15. @timeisaflatcircle93 do you remember that???? Well, I do!!!! I took Shaun seriously and decided if this fast marathoner has confidence in me, then I might as well go for it. I started off way too fast and ran one of my fastest half marathons in the marathon. I was dying. I could barely stand the cheering on first Avenue but once I hit Central Park, I felt life back in my legs thanks to a Dixie cup full of coke (pop/soda to be clear) from a man in the Bronx. And boom. Crossed the finish line as Shaun predicted in 3:15. Of all the finish lines I have crossed, that particular one is the finish line that gives me the most confidence for future finish lines. #marathon#running#runnershigh#nyc#nycmarathon#runnersofinstagram#runningcommunity#runnerslife#finishline#run#happyrunner#runhappy#runstagram

I run my shoes into the ground... quite literally!
I’ve never been one to put much money or thought into shoes. Cheap, no-brand, or super clearance is me all the way! My one exception is with my running shoes... I learned early on that what’s on your feet can make all the difference on a run! When I first started running I was still in high school and I ran in whatever was given to me, which were usually low end tennies or hand-me-downs. I remember those days, and the crazy struggles I had. Thinking back, I’m not sure why I kept going. I had consistent shin splints, chronic arch pain, my feet would fall asleep when I ran, running was JUST MISERABLE! College is where my running went from “just a thing” to a passion that drove me. It was also where I discovered that not all shoes where created equal, and you could actually be fitted and analyzed for your unique proper fit 🤯 🤯😱😲 Somehow I was able to scrape up the money to buy a pair of Brooks (which I was fitted for at an awesome little running shop in Reno, NV.) I remember they were a bright blue color, and my running was never the same! I have switched between different brands since then, but Brooks have a special place in my heart because they were my first big investment purchase I made in my running career. They carried me through my first Marathon, multiple small running events, and countless training runs. Despite the advise to ‘replace shoes every so many miles,’ I had them FOREVER, probably because in college I couldn’t afford to buy new ones, 😏 but still, they held up amazingly!
Well the time has come again to get new shoes 😞. I definitely do not look forward to this transition, especially in the middle of a training program. Finding the right fit, crossing your fingers that they will mesh with you on your actual runs, breaking them in... it’s like starting a new relationship with someone after you got so comfortable and familiar with the last... so wish me luck!... and if you have any recommendations I could possibly be missing out on, do share 😀
First successful run in over a week with these two gals! Ever since running 4 days in a row at the beginning of last week, I've had a super annoying and painful knee injury in my right knee (WebMD says it's runner's knee, so guess I'll just go with my self diagnosis HAH!) It hurt to even walk on Thursday, so I took a few days off and tried to go out on Saturday when I thought it was better. Well, when I went out on Saturday for my scheduled 6 mile run, my knee started hurting again (it's like a sharp pain on the outer back edge) after mile 2.5 and I had to call it quits. I tried doing an easy 1 mile run on Tuesday on the treadmill and it was a complete fail, so I took it easy again.
Tonight's run felt pretty good, a 6 on a scale of 1-10. I didn't start getting the random sharp pain in my knee until mile 2.85, but the whole run I couldn't make up my mind as to whether or not it was starting to hurt or not! Maybe it's all in my head 🤔
I guess I've just been lucky in terms of running injuries, considering I've never had injuries like I've seen in the last month (first my foot swelling up and now this. Blah.) Fingers are crossed that this overuse injury is on its way out so I can get back to my marathon training plan!

Today started off with a 2 mile run, some strength, sauna time, and ended with a 5 mile bike ride! Today was such a better day! Thank goodness tomorrow’s Friday! 🎉
Also, as a side note, my 5 mile bike ride made me sweat SO much! I was literally drenched 🤣 Who would’ve thought! It’s crazy how different my body feels after cycling as opposed to running!
Had a friend who is a very good runner pace me for my first tempo run in ages. We cruised through the darkness in pouring ran. It was a really cool run and felt pretty good! Goal was 6 min pace, so his pacing was on point 👌🏻
This was not easy 😅 so I’ll be decreasing my speed as I up the milage. I want this to be the first of many a #tempothursday .
Also new shoe day! Got to break in a new pair of Pegs I got on sale for 70 bucks 👍🏻
I’m happy to be running again. They’re not fast or even long runs but they’re miles nonetheless. It’s been cold and even rainy at times which would usually be an excuse to skip but it’s weird what NOT running can do to you. #amiright? I love seeing Paula get out there and run and I have to admit, I get a bit jealous when she has more running clothes in the laundry than I do. 🤣 Here’s to more recovery miles. Oh, and the weekend is almost here yo! 🙌🏻
Training this week has been going well. 🏃🏻♀️Lots of treadmill running, I kind of like it. 🤗

It was a little windy and thought I was just gonna run for 4 miles then it became 6 miles. 😊 I finally lost some lbs! Down 5lbs so far. THANK YOU, weighing scale. Lol (I don’t want Sanjay Gupta, (you know, the CNN medical reporter to tell me that I am obese. 😂😂😂) Anyways, I got a job where I can be home with my daughter at night and off on the weekends. I start on Monday and can’t wait to kick butt. 😜 I’m still shooting for spring term to start school. I really don’t know how I’m gonna do it all. Full time mother, full time job, then full time student then have a crazy hobby called running. But they say, if there’s a will, there’s a way. Something like that. #hopeforthebest
Besides running & spinning; a favorite cardio machine we love is the stairmaster! No matter how many times you do the stairmaster, it never gets easier 😩😩 These are 2 types of movements we do to make the time fly by!
Keys to be efficient on the stairmaster:
🔹Try not to hold on to the handle bars/rail; you definitely burn more calories!
🔹If you have to decrease the level/speed to achieve this, ain’t no shame!
🔹If you must hold on, try not to lay on the machine or lean on it, stand upright with light placement on the bars and let your legs do most of the work! 🔥🔥
