Tough workout on the track tonight! 🏃🏻♀️ We did w/u, 800 x 8 with 400 recovery, then cool down. I didn’t quite hit all of my targeted paces but I gave it all I had! Didn’t help that I took the first one way too fast. 🙈 My watch shows total including warm up and cool down.
•YOU HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE •
What an incredible transformation I have had in just a year! I wanted this to be a strong message portraying that it didn’t happen over night. In fact, it pretty much took me a year to get to where I wanted to be.....that is, strong enough to run my First Marathon. This is reality and I worked very hard day in and day out to not only get back in to Running shape but to be the best Mommy to my son. Motherhood and Fitness went hand in hand for me and it made me a better person all together. It just wasn’t all about me but I found my balance and made it work! No matter what postpartum stage you are at just please always remember that YOU ARE ENOUGH! .
••EMBRACE the Journey: MY Journey was in no way shape or form PERFECT. Let’s be real here, it was tough, exhausting, overwhelming but also extremely rewarding! I apologize if I made it seem easy or picture perfect as there were just as many downs as there were ups. I’m here for a reason as I always stayed on my own path and loved it for all it’s worth. .
••LIFE is not a Competition: The best thing I ever did for myself was letting go of what others were doing. It was so easy to see what the other mother runners were accomplishing at their postpartum stage and it only added unnecessary pressure. Seriously, for what? I was after one thing and that was getting to 26.2. I stuck with a plan and made myself my own competition everyday! .
••CHOOSE to be Goal-Oriented: Success in life comes when you simply refuse to give up, with goals so strong that obstacles and failures would only act as motivation. Of course, there will be haters, doubters, non-believers, and there will be YOU, proving them wrong. It’s a part of life but never sell yourself short and do whatever it takes to reach whatever goals you have in mind. .
For all the new moms out there, athletes starting over from recovering from injuries or setbacks, individuals striving to lose weight and better their health, and anyone starting a new training plan, PLEASE take a moment to give yourself some recognition that you are starting somewhere and will continue to thrive in what you choose to do!
Getting pumped over here for my upcoming races 🤸🏻♀️
This year the 305 Half Marathon on March 4th includes the 305 Drive Ignited by Athlinks—>a 400m dash beginning at mile 3.05 🏃🏻♀️💨 and there will be an exclusive prize for the top male and female in each age group 🙌🏼 makes it even more exciting!
Make sure to register before the price increase in January 19th‼️
Totally kicked this tempo run in the 🍑! 🏃🏼♀️
1 mi w/u
4 mi tempo @ 8:13, 8:06, 8:00, 7:53
1 mi c/d
Felt that comfortably uncomfortable feeling and my avg HR was only 158 😳 I don’t think it’s ever been that low during a tempo 🤣Afterwards I did an hour of body pump. Super excited and happy with where my training is going! ☺️ #runjillrun#marathontraining#temporun
One day I’ll run the Chicago marathon, but not this year. When I found out in December I didn’t get in to run Chicago I was SO incredibly disappointed. 😔
But typical me, I tried to just brush it off & said I didn’t really 🤷🏼♀️ want to run a full anyways.
That the half distance was more my jam. Which it is. I love the 13.1 distance. Like a lot. 🙌🏼
BUT I have this strong urge to run a full.
To be a part of that 1% of the population that’s ran a marathon.🥇
So here’s my ❓.. how many of you that have ran a full were scared [ out of your mind ] to actually sign up for one? 💻
Detroit full marathon, yay or nay for those that have ran it? 🏃🏼♀️
Repost from @midwestmotherrunner@TopRankRepost#TopRankRepost We’ve got another ☃️❄️SNOW DAY❄️☃️ which means I’m dreaming of warmer weather! I’ve made a handful of new connections recently, so I thought I’d take a quick minute to (re)introduce the girl behind @midwestmotherrunner...
✨ 99% of my family + friends call me Allison, but I also go by Al, Ally, Ally Cat, and Flare (from maiden name) 💁🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
✨ I grew up in Northern VA, attended Boston University, and moved to Columbus in August 2015 ⭕️🙌🏼🏈⭕️ I love Columbus (Go Bucks!), but I’d move back to Boston in a heartbeat.
✨ I have a B.S. in Severe Special Education and have taught in an elementary, middle, and high school setting 📋📚✏️ Eventually, I‘d like to pursue a master’s degree in clinical counseling.
✨ I used to HATE running and thought of it as punishment. It wasn’t until my junior year in college that I started running for “fun” and entered the NYC Marathon lottery, with only ever running a 5K previously 🏃🏼♀️💨
✨ Doctors told me that I had a 1% chance of ever getting pregnant on my own. I began a round of IVF, but stopped just before the trigger shot because I recently started a new job. 6 months later, I found out that I was pregnant with E 💫💕👧🏼 It was a total surprise and she will always be my miracle baby.
✨ My worst attributes: I’m stubborn and wear my emotions on my sleeve. I can’t fake anything and can’t tell a lie worth a lick 🙅🏼♀️😃😢 If I’m happy, all will know it. If I’m upset, my face will surely show it.
✨ My favorite things include coffee, carbs, cuddles, running, exploring new places, puzzles, Trader Joe’s, and the beach ☕️🛒🏝
So now it’s YOUR TURN! Tell me something about YOU!
|🏃🏼♀️8.75 mile Run| Today’s run was all about getting the miles in this afternoon. I tried out my new compression socks from @teamtiux & I’m in love 😍 — they are amazing! If you want to try out a pair you can save 15% by using the code: MOLLYROSE — you won’t regret it! Thank you @teamtiux for these great socks! 🙌🏻 Thank you @jenicavillamor for being my support on this run! 💕
3 miles tonight! Normally I would say it’s hard to slow down but I needed these miles to be slow and steady with the way I’ve had so much on my mind lately. I’ll be training for my first everrr half marathon. I couldn’t begin to explain how excited I am! 😆 But beings that this is my first half marathon, I am completely open to any words of wisdom and/or advice! Lay it on me, guys! Right now my plan is to build my mileage and make my easy runs just that, EASY. I was pretty proud with this run because my average HR was 130. All the strength training I’ve been doing has really helped with this! Anyways, that’s all I got for now. 🙌
Gettin’ some muscles💪🏽 I always tried to get strength work in when I was training for races but since August I started weight training more seriously. I’ve never felt stronger, I can run faster & feel so much better doing everyday tasks. A HUGE thank you to @jkconditioning for all the gains! 👋🏽BYE noodle arms👋🏽

You know those workouts where you pause halfway through and contemplate quitting? Yeah, that was this one. I paused my Garmin halfway through and wanted to call it quits, but I decided to dig deep and keep going. Those are the runs where you learn the most about yourself. When you are *this* close to throwing in the towel, but instead you keep pushing. Those are the runs, as difficult as they are mentally, that I grow the most as a runner...because I know I can do hard things.
1/2 mile warm up
4 mile cutdown (8:48, 8:45, 8:28, 8:32)
1/2 mile cool down
🏃🏻♀️5 miles total + lower body strength at the gym

He always makes me smile 🤩 #day3of80dayobsession ❤️
So far I am truly enjoying he program. It’s challenging yet familiar as it reminds me of moves I’ve done through out my training with a twist. Now to fuel and rest.
So I haven’t really posted a lot of those “Before and After” pics of my recent journey back to health and fitness. Mostly because I don’t have a lot of pictures of one of the most difficult times in my life. I just didn’t want to have photographic evidence that I wasn’t taking care of myself properly so I avoided taking pictures as much as possible. I also don’t like using the terminology of before and after. Life is a journey and we should always treasure whatever part of our journey we are in and we should be proud of our bodies no matter what the scale says. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t always try to better ourselves and strive to be the best versions of ourselves that we can possibly be. And so I share these photos to show two different points in my journey. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. Like a yo-yo. So I know just how hard it is to fight your own body for control. I don’t know what the answers really are for long-term success, but I know that I will always fight for the girl in the picture on the right to stick around. Not because I want to be skinny, but because that girl is the best version of me I can be and because that girl is strong and healthy and has reduced her health risks significantly. And while we should always feel beautiful at any size, we should always try to take the best care of ourselves as we possibly can. The girl on the left wasn’t doing that in 2016. But the girl on the right, she’s a different story. She is me now and she can do anything she sets her mind to. Including encouraging others to make a positive change in their lives and their health. So please do all you can to live the best life you can in 2018 and every year. You are so very worth it! #fitness#fitnessjourney#fitnessmotivation#weightlossjourney#weightlosstransformation#weightlossmotivation#healthylifestyle#runnerscommunity#runnergirl#running#runhappy#whatifirunwithyou#runnerforlife#lowcarblifestyle#sortofketo#getmoving#keepmoving#nevergiveup💪 #strongnotskinny#runnersofinstagram#runnersworld
Treadmill season. Meh. At least I’m flirting with my normal average speeds- hoping to get back into 8:30+ min/miles so when the weather is nice I can fly. 😎👍 Thanks for kicking it @garmin and being an awesome watch/fitness tracker.
WOW you guys!!! Day 3 was no joke!!! That was the hardest one for now.......& I LOVE my cardio!! She had me dripping sweat and cursing her!!! 😂
This workout combined cardio, hiit intervals & core moves, with a repeat of the core moves at the end.
Oh. My. Goodness.
Is all I have to say......get ready to feel the burn!!!! The great thing is I could keep up the entire time, and I didn’t have to modify, or take a break!! I’m so excited by my progress!! We all start somewhere!! A year ago this wouldn’t have been possible for me!! I would not have been able to do the whole workout without stopping or modifying!! Embrace the journey!
Be proud of yourself every day!
Every time you press play you better pat yourself on the back!! A lot of people don’t even do that much!! Push through, do it for YOU!! I also went on an almost 5 mile run this morning!! It feels SO great to be back to a regular running schedule.
With Christmas break & a sick household I haven’t been running very much!! There’s just something about lacing up your Nike’s and going for it that I love!
And the fact that I run with a great friend is also incentive!! * If it was easy EVERYONE would do it!!! #imobsessed#beachbodygirl#momrunner#fitmom#fitchick#fitlife#fitmomsofig#fitspo#fitfam#runnersworld#runforlife#runnershigh#runnersbody#runnersworld#runnersofig#runnerscommunity#runningmom#trailrunning#muscles#intermittentfasting#timednutrition#80dayobsession#imobsessed
