Focusing on getting some of my clients The PilatesPT studio today to work on HIP ROLLS & soft ball stability challenge. A beautiful articulation for the spine. Common errors I see here are clients rolling to the outside of their feet, not keeping parallel legs (softball helps), overextending their upper ribcage and moving the carriage as they lift their hips up. What to keep in mind then??
Exhale and Press with back of heels to engage hamstrings and glutes to lift pelvis- WITHOUT moving the carriage to peel your spine one vertebra at a time from the tail to upper thoracic (avoid popping ribcage or going back as far as neck). Inhale- HOLD the position reaching knees over footbar. Exhale maintain your abdominal connection and press the carriage out lowering pelvis to make one line from shoulder to knees- (keep neutral pelvis). Inhale bring the hips back over the footbar. Exhale and without moving the carriage, sequentially articulate spine onto the carriage. Eight week training includes:

-Three weekends of lecture and hands-on practical
-Opportunity to get your observation hours, personal training hours, and practice teaching hours

-Your test out and your Flex audition
Learn how to build an advanced reformer class
Learn how to improve on your own practice
Learn proper alignment and postural corrections
Learn how to execute a safe and effective a reformer group class
Learn how to modify reformer work for all levels of fitness
Learn how to expand on your reformer classes using the state of the art, extremely versatile Allegro 2s.

Current Flex students: $1850
May 13-14 *Each Saturday and Sunday listed above will meet from 2pm-6pm -Open studio practice dates: April 22nd-June 16th
-Observation hours (all classes are avalable with instructor approval)
-Practice teaching hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-8:30pm
-Students may take Flex classes during this period for FREE (pending an available spot in class)
Final Exam: Final practical exam and audition will take place June 17th
Maximum Capacity: 9 students *Please note this certification only qualifies you to teach at Flex Pilates Chicago. Each studio has its own unique requirements for hire. *This is NOT a guaranteed job. You will have to pass both your written exam and practical teaching exam to be auditioned to work at Flex. *By participating in this training you consent to a 2 mile teaching restriction from our studio. *In order to receive the current student discount you must have completed at least 45 hours of classes at Flex Pilates Chicago prior to registering for Teacher Training.
