An oldie but a goodie 👌🏻I like to add the ring around the knees to activate the outer thighs and then inside the knees to get those inner thighs firing up! “Training without intent is fitness training” - a lovely quote from a martial arts master. I tried a few Kung fu classes last year. I loved the focus, the discipline, the concentration, the control. You can see the similarities with Pilates - and of course Mr Pilates studied martial arts too. As students and teachers, it is really important to think of the intention of our movement. Pilates for me is not about fitness training, about the abs, the toned body. Yes we may get those along our journey, but it’s not I believe the intent. It goes way deeper than that - if you are willing to apply the patience, reflection and awareness from within. Are we willing to look beyond that superficial first layer and awaken our senses?
