Here's the process video from yesterday's posts! #usingallthepaint I was surprised and delighted at the exuberant response from yesterday! Some questions people asked: How long did it take to dry? It took about two days, here in very dry Minnesota winter.⠀Did it crack? No, but I wasn’t entirely pleased with how it dried. It lost some luster and dimension. Will I sell it? Yes, something like it at some point! I need to solve the problem of making sure this style of painting looks great once it’s dry. Then I’ll make some more and do a limited sale. I’ve been too busy to sell stuff from my website (since last year), but if you’re interested in first dibs when I start up again (probably in March), sign up for my mailing list, link in bio! 😘😘😘
Oh hello Saturday, I’m glad you’re here.
I like weekends when I can complete the random things I’ve been wanting to do, like make stuff besides painting.
I made my revised brush/palette knife and I have to say it turned out great. It’s a lot taller than the other one (scroll back in my feed to see the other one) and I needed it taller because the bend in some of my palette knives were too strong for the other one and wouldn’t rest above the table, giving me a dirty table.
Now they’ll rest above the table and keep them in one spot (so I am less likely to knock them all over lol). The indents are smaller, which is great to keep the knives in line (or smaller brushes) but also works for larger ones too.
What do you think? Let me know. So far so good. Did I mention the best part? It’s shimmery!
“ Dolphin point “ 45.5 x 45.5 x 3.5 cm oil on canvas 🎨 During my holiday in Noosa last year I spent some mornings walking towards Hells Gates. On the way there I was mesmerised by the beautiful hidden beaches. This is one of them from a series of paintings from Sunshine beach. I hope you like it 🤔🎨🖌
In the thinking chair with a cup of tea. Contemplation is such a big part of my painting process. Nearly but not quite there... too wet to fiddle with. (s w i p e for a closer look) Best to leave it. Could need a couple of gestural marks but will decide next week! #talentshowntell
