“Capitalism has outlived its usefulness; it has created enormous productive power and vast wealth, but these do not legally belong to those who have actually produced them...[it] estranges or alienates workers from the processes and the products of their labor, from one another, and from their distinctly human capacities, particularly that of creating and enjoying useful and beautiful things.” (p. 134) •
People constantly say we should avoid violence and direct action because things can be changed through different, more revisionist means. Take a look at history; the only way change can occur is through riots, protests, and direct action. The Workers Union riots, the Stonewall Riots, the Detroit Riots of 1967, the Kent State Riots, the Montgomery Bus boycotts, the Suffrage Parade and many more examples of direct action have brought around massive changes that signing protests and emailing lawmakers has never brought around. Pick yourself up, and resist.

#SierraLeone in West Africa has the highest maternal mortality ratio in the world, making it one of the most dangerous places to give birth. Socialist revolution is the only way to reverse this. Building upon the revolutionary leadership of Lenin and Stalin in the Soviet Union, then Mao in China, the next wave of socialism will be able to provide healthcare for everyone (especially those across the Third World who need it most urgently)—in the larger context of building a truly emancipatory society.
