Also excited because I haven’t run-commuted for ages. I won’t be able to use the trail path as it’ll be dark but I found a route that goes along the main road and is only 6 miles!
Great start to the weekend - AND our running club is doing a volunteer takeover at parkrun tomorrow. I’ll be timekeeper at Eastville Park. Cant wait! 🏃🏼♀️

Puddle jumping, girl talk, daylight, and an amazing 50 degree day made for the perfect 5 miles with @sockyrunner and @thelittlerunnergirl ❤️ This run was just what I needed after the past few weeks of hibernation! I was so happy I didn’t even mind being wayyy overdressed! 🤣 Thanks for the miles ladies! #runupstateny

This weeks LR is completed (a little on the wet side) 15 miles with @aaaakondo@thelittlerunnergirl@jkbashaw! 6 miles easy, 6 miles faster, last three FLY. 🏃🏼♀️💨Considering my legs haven’t moved at this pace in a very long time I’m happy with my ((6:46, 6:27, 6:31))3 mile finish! Ended the morning with some @narkrunningstrategies strength 💪🏼
W1D2 of half marathon training - rest day!
So I will instead show you a picture of this beautiful salad concoction. Baby spinach, baby carrots, blue cheese crumbles, cranberry chicken sausage, avocado and poppyseed dressing. Such a great combo! 😍
I’m trying to increase my protein and healthy fats during training. This fits the bill! 👌🏻
And although today was a rest day, it was a full day of work and a white knuckle drive home bc ❄️❄️❄️. Whew! That was its own workout. Based on the weather, I’ll most likely be hitting the gym for another treadmill run tomorrow.

The #treadmill was not feeling me today! I haven’t run outside since my “episode” many weeks ago (and it’s been a frozen tundra ❄️💨) Instead, I’ve resorted to early morning in-home workouts with the hubs. The kids, however, are on to us and the majority of the workouts have been interrupted/not finished 🙄 Thank goodness for the expensive gym membership though - I’ve been able to work out a fair amount
I love running, but I don’t love running right now and it’s making me a little sad. I’m a work in progress and I’m putting it all out there ( #vulnerable)

It felt SOOO good to get those lungs burning! It's been forever since I got some good sprints in and I LOOOVED it!! Ooh, and I got to break in my new Brooks tonight!! Ordered some @caterpylaces to go along with then and can't wait to get my favorite laces on them!!

Confession time! I have a love/hate relationship with hill work. I know how important it is and love it when it’s done, but while I’m doing it, I’m secretly wishing I picked flatter courses for my marathons! 🙈😂
Today’s workout was a beauty and I’m so happy with the way I handled it; even if I wished I was running on a flat surface!

This hill. This hill right here was the first hill I faced in my first ever half marathon. It kicked my butt. Today, I returned the favour.
When I read that I had a hill workout this morning, I knew exactly where I was going. I was heading back to a hill that had taken so much out of me in a race, to show myself, and the hill 😂😂, just how far I’ve come.
Primed and ready for a hilly 8k race this weekend. Heading back to Win City, it’s been real Montreal, au revoir.
Mommying is HARD...
Today, I experienced it for the first time as a part-time working momma.
One reason I’ve never attempted to get a job outside the home was my fear of calling in sick because of the kids... I had to do that today & I felt SO awful for doing so!
Gs been under the weather the past 2 days & even though I was set to work today, I had to make a decision to keep him at home... Thankfully my amazing boss was able to come into the salon early & the babysitter we met this weekend was able to be here with him for 2hrs while i was at work.
It’s stressful & hard to have to overcome anxiety & fears..: but I do LOVE my job & getting outside my comfort zone!
After some meds, I made G go outside to get fresh air & this is what I was able to capture after our almost 7 inches of snow the past 36+hrs!
I also have a goal to run 1000 miles this year & added 4 more today to make my mileage 31/1000! .

Another sloppy 4.5 miles in the bank tonight. Thank goodness I have trail shoes because I’ve worn them every day for the past 3 weeks! ❄️Trying to remind myself that although it’s slow going, I’m getting out there and getting it done. The me from five years ago would not have left the house in this weather— it’s always good to remember how far you’ve come! 💁🏽♀️ #progressnotperfection

I woke up this morning and my whole body & spirit craved a run; that’s how I know I’m now a runner. I woke up & my heart and spirit craved for the run to be accompanied by “Jesus music”; that’s how I know I’m a Christian. Some days I don’t wake up and desire either, but I know I have an unseen certainty that keeps me going with both. ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️
If I tried to write a real post, it would probably make about zero sense. I spent most of the 3rd and the last mile trying to figure out how to express it, and I guess what I came up with is: running is teaching me to listen to things that aren’t said. It’s making me a stronger runner & a stronger Christian and hopefully an all-round better human. ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀
4 miles today, and that entire last mile was some #voluntaryhardship but if that’s what it takes to craft me into the best version of me, so be it. PS that hardship is chipping away at that pace. 11:00, here I come!
An easy 5 miles after a very long day at work. Ever have those days where every little thing just irritates you and you can’t control it? That was me today. I hate those days but it’s so hard to change how you’re feeling. Still, I managed to come home and grab my dog for this run before the sun went down. Watching my dog run so happily after being alone all day and then the sun setting really helped change my mood 😊 tomorrow will be a better day!
