We did a good job milling the top beams square on all sides so all thats needed is 4 clamps to get a nice even glue squeeze out. The middle beam had one board that wasnt quite long enough along its full thickness. You can see a notch out of the middle beam. The top half of it is there though. I didnt think reducing the top length by a half inch was worth it just to remove that defect. Its just more character :) everything else is milled square and cut to length so i should be able to start joinery in the morning. #workbench#hickory#woodworking
Been awhile since we had our fan-favourite Smoked Ale in the fridge at the Shoppe.
Get at it, friends. Dark amber/brown in colour, this ale is brewed with choice malts smoked over beechwood giving it flavours of hickory, smoke, and rye.
@321ochoa is working his way through a ton of hickory glue ups that will become the planter boxes for the room dividers for @8thdaydistillery. Im excited to get some of these all finished so we can see how they come together with the steel framework.

One of the first jobs we posted on IG. Still in love the look of these massive hickory treads. It was a huge learning experience, but well worth the results. Lesson for next time: maybe avoid doing solid hardwood core box treads, and solid maple stringers... things get a little heavy.
