Chasing sunrises in Oahu. 🌴 you’d expect dinosaurs behind every corner here, most of the time all you find are chickens though 😛🦖🐓 Watch by @cluse#cluse (Werbung)

#Repost@history: This week the people of Hawaii and Japan have had had major scares due to false alarms caused by minor mistakes. Hawaii’s missile alert interface had a one-word difference between sending a test alert and a real one, which is eerily reminiscent of a 1971 scare that paralyzed the U.S. for 40 minutes. That system was tested every Saturday, but on that Saturday a real message came over the special teletype network that sat inside every radio and TV station. “Message authenticator: hatefulness, hatefulness, it read. “This is an emergency action notification (EAN) directed by the President. Normal broadcasting will cease immediately.” “Hatefulness” matched up with the special daily code words sent to broadcasters to verify an emergency alert. When the warning center realized what it had done, employees scrambled for the code word they needed to stop the broadcasts but couldn’t find it. Finally, more than 40 minutes after the first transmission, the Office of Civil Defense sent a cancellation message with the right code word to broadcasters. And thus concluded the first major test, and failure, of the Emergency Broadcast System. While the alerts may be fake, the panic they caused isn’t and people have been prepping for the possibility of nuclear war for years. This 1987 picture shows the Kenley children aged 5-8 whose family built this bunker following the preachings of Elizabeth Clare Prophet and her ' Church Universal and Triumphant.' Prophet and her church were predicting a first-strike nuclear attack by the Soviet Union and thus urged followers to prepare for this possibility. #falsealarm#WWIII#bunker#preppers#emergencyalerts#hawaii#japan
HCL #FactOfTheWeek: "Don't touch your credit before closing! 💰🙅♀️ Here's a must-know fact about getting a mortgage: Your lender will pull your credit againbefore the loan closes, usually a few days before. To be completely safe, don't do anything that will significantly change your credit score or debt levels. For example, if you obtain a new auto loan between the application credit pull and the pre-closing credit pull, it can affect your debt-to-income ratio and cause the loan to get sent back to underwriting. Or, applying for a new credit card could lower your credit score by enough that you won't qualify for your interest rate anymore." 💰💰💰 #hcl#FOTW#mortgage#hclfacts#mortgages#lender#va#vu#veterans#valoans#honolulu#hawaii#oahu#realty#realestate
The “Big Pool” in the Kalalau Valley from 2 years ago. Last night I booked my flights for a May trip to Kauai where I will backpack the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali Coast for the 3rd time. If you have followed me for a while, you know out of all my adventures that I have done, the Kalalau Trail is my favorite. Can’t wait!
