Of an innocence long past
I remember the depth of my disappointment when I heard that Amsterdam hadn’t seen snow in years. I’d never seen snow before. It was my greatest wish.
The day it snowed, I was so excited it didn’t occur to me that this wasn’t normal. I grabbed my camera with its make-shift waterproofing and headed out of my not-so-warm but super comfortable apartment into a crazy snowstorm.
Between trying to protect my camera from the elements and trying not to look like a bat-shit crazy Asian, what I ended up with was a bunch of beautifully ruined photographs.
This was one of the last shots I took before my half-drained camera battery gave up on me.
I love this one. The beauty and innocence that surrounds children is truly precious.
