WE ARE | LEICA M4 | AGFA APX 400
I noticed her down the other end of the tram heading into Fitzroy. Or rather she noticed me. Or to be perfectly truthful, we noticed each other! It was one of those moments where you keep noticing the other and both of you turn away the second you make eye contact. I can’t leave such a situation without settling the score so when the tram got stuck in traffic and she headed for the door, I did too. I stopped her and told her how beautiful her crazy hair is and how it had fascinated me for the last 15 minutes. “Did you just get out to tell me that?” she asked laughing. “No, of course not! I lied...”Good! Because that would have been creepy!” I always find it funny how we try to evaluate each other when actually we’re all the same. But now she was laughing and her eyes were as wild as her hair and I wanted her portrait twice as bad! ...oh...if I remember right, her dad’s German, she spent a year in Berlin and I must visit where she works when I’m next in Melbourne...but then I guess that would really be creepy!
