That was a close one 😮😳😅
According to NBC News, a pair of 40-ton giants got dangerously close to a surfer in Santa Cruz, California. The US Coast Guard isn’t saying for sure, but there are many reports of more humpbacks coming closer to shore than ever.
Some whale experts, like those at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA, say this is something to worry about. They’re concerned about people getting hurt.
NBC quoted Kera Mathes of the Aquarium as saying “Being that close to an 80,000-pound whale when it’s coming up and looking for food isn’t safe,” she said. “When these surfers and kayakers are so close, it definitely poses a danger to the whale and those in the water.”
She’s right… but we believe it’s possible to get close to these remarkable animals, and get close safely.

Spotted this beautiful leader of a big herd early in the morning in the Indian jungle. Just right after the mist solved they vanished back into the thick forest #🦌

Climate Tip: Take a shower instead of a bath
A shower takes up to four times less energy than a bath. To maximize the energy saving, avoid power showers and use low-flow showerheads, which are cheap and provide the same comfort. 💚 globalwarming-facts.info

How lucky can one be to witness this 💙
Orcas live closely together in families that stay together all life: children, grandkids, grandparents, aunts. These families are called pods or schools of whales.
From time to time, several pods that are related to each other meet and form big groups (clans) of up to 150 animals. These clans even develop their own dialect and hunting habits by which they can be clearly differentiated.
Some clans seem to be specializing on chasing a specific kind of prey – fishes, seals, whales – so that other possible prey will be totally ignored.
Often, several pods cooperate on the hunt and, occasionally, are joined by other whales who apparently have no fear at all.

BREAKING: Today, two years after first campaigning to ban microbeads, we welcome the great news that rinse-off cosmetic products can no longer be manufactured using microbeads in the UK
Globally this is one of the strongest bans in force and a step in the right direction to tackle the 12 million tonnes of plastic entering our oceans every year. The government is considering extending the ban to include "leave on" products like lotions, sun creams and make up as well as abrasive cleaning products .

Anyone who thinks hemp is just for smoking is ignorant. Hemp is an incredibly useful and lucrative material that can be used across countless industries, not just environmental, but also boosts economies, healthcare and many others sectors. If the world needs #awareness on using a more sustainable substance, this is definitely near the top of the list.
Like to help spread.

Are you into #veganuary? Have you found some vegan make up you love or are you a bit confused what to buy? Wanna get some expert help to find organic, natural beauty that is vegan too?
. 🐬What is all the fuss you might think. You might not know that many vegan brands are synthetic, containing silicones, polymers and micro-plastics, created with petrochemicals -chemicals derived from petrol. This non-renewable source is sadly linked with oil spillages, loss in animal habitat, plastics in the sea and air pollution… So look at the ingredient labels and look for ingredients that are plant based, ideally certified organic - grown without pesticides and herbicides - that are kind to bunnies and other wildlife. .
. 🐇When you shop vegan bear in mind that #vegan does not mean #crueltyfree. A brand can be without animal derived ingredients (vegan) yet still sell in China where #animaltesting is required by law.
. 🦋If you like to invest in ethical beauty brands that actively protect animal welfare and their environment then check out our #vegan page at . Here you will find our handpicked vegan beauty heroes and brands that we love and use in our make up tutorials.

When it's cold outside and New Yorkers need to get out of the house they can wander around beautiful spaces such as @metropolitan__museum. Although I went to see the exhibit of the drawings of Michelangelo, I found myself drawn to this figure, a lone bronze stature amoung an exhibit of much larger white marble statues. She is called "Winter" by Jean Antoine Houdon. Having just retreated from temperatures in the teens, I felt a rush of empathy for this naked person with barely enough protection from the elements. We sometimes dismiss talking about the weather as pedestrian, but our bodies are shaped by the conditions outside. To support those who are comitted to addressing climate change, this week Aglow Dermatology gives to The Climate Museum. Join us!...and check out the Michaelangelo --it's fab!

My quest for healthier living began nearly a decade ago around the time of my diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis. Like many people though, I initially thought about health in terms of the foods I was putting IN my body, giving little thought to the external factors that influence our health. .
I knew there were tens of thousands of toxic chemicals in our environment, yet it never really struck me that these ingredients were the very same ones found in the home/personal care products we were putting on our skin and breathing in every. single. day. It wasn’t until I became pregnant that I began to think about how the products I was using daily could be negatively affecting us - they wreak havoc on our hormones, affect our ability to lose weight and most concerning, have been shown to be carcinogenic. With it now estimated that Canadian cancer rates will be ONE in TWO in our lifetime, something needs to change...we are the gatekeepers for what is brought into our homes.
Young Living essential oils provided our family with peace of mind in knowing that our home could truly be the safe haven. We now use essential oils all day long for everything from digestive issues, headaches, pain and inflammation, cuts and skin irritations, sleep and relaxation, non-toxic cleaning, beauty and personal care products + more. .
As a result, I’m super excited to have partnered up with my good friend and fellow holistic nutritionist, @karlie.holtby for an online essential oil class where we’ll take you through what we’ve learned over the years and how we incorporate essential oils into every aspect of our lives. .
Join us Friday to learn how you can make simple changes that transform your health. Simply add yourself to the group (link in profile) and if you can't join live, go back and watch at your convenience. Feel free to also share the event with friends and family who would benefit from this information as well. We can’t wait to connect with you!
