🌿l e t t i n g g o • The trees never worry when their leaves are blown away. they stand firmly, trusting that in time they will heal and they will bloom again, beautifully. Forgiveness is like that, it is freedom. It is dropping that hot coal that is burning the palm of your hand, and letting the healing begin. 🌸🌲 I love how much order and wisdom can be paralleled in nature ✨ At a loss for words at how great the Creator of this universe is 💛
Thank you all so much for your support in purchasing artwork. Each print you buy helps fund our adoption, and we are soooo grateful!
Just a heads up that I’m probably going to close up shop in the next month or so to start preparing for baby!

“Find a beautiful piece of art. If you fall in love with Van Gogh or Matisse or John Oliver Killens, or if you fall love with the music of Coltrane, the music of Aretha Franklin, or the music of Chopin - find some beautiful art and admire it, and realize that that was created by human beings just like you, no more human, no less.” -Mary Angelou

⏱ Time is running out to make your holiday orders. You must make all purchases by midnight TONIGHT to get it shipped before Christmas. Don’t be one of thooose people who waits until the last minute and then has to print a picture of the gift to give because it didn’t come in time... just kidding, I’ve totally been that person. No shame. 😝
What is it about animals wearing hats that is just so adorable? I don’t know, but I’m not complaining. Currently gushing over @this_girl_is_a_squirrel rescued from Hurricane Issac to warm our hearts everywhere, the inspiration behind this illustration. Swipe to see original! Keep being really adorable #jillthesquirrel you’ve got a fan 👋🏻
Some of the close up detail of one of my brand new weaving artworks that has recently found a new home. My mixed media artwork is entitled “The Last of the Season’s Roses” and is part of my “Woven Contemplations” series inspired by my love of textiles featuring ink, pencil, and acrylic on watercolour paper woven together.
In the Black&White book. "...I don't have a designated "style". Some days I want to use every mark, color and texture. Some days I want to make big pretty messes. Some days I want to limit myself to just what's in my little travel art pouch. My style doesn't jump around because I don't know who I am as an artist. It's because I DO know. I'm an artist who won't settle for my present self. There will always be something I want to try or am curious about, and I'm not going to stop myself just because people may not like it." -- Mariel @hey.itsmariel .
One if my favourite photos of this silly goofball of mine! December Daily has meant taking time to document all of this stuff and realising how important it is. I think I need to figure out a way to do more of this. The flip through of days one to seven is on my YouTube right now. Go watch it! Link in profile

I love looking at the best nine each year because I think it’s such an interesting way of getting an overview of the year. Obviously I was super excited my BFF Barnaby landed in the center; I hope he is loving his new life at the elementary school! But looking back at 2017 and reflecting on it through the lens of Instagram doesn’t show everything this year. I added some highlights of my own if you swipe ->
The main highlight being I got married this year and it was so lovely! 👰🏼🤵🏼
And then getting our sweet kitten Hugo shortly after was the best birthday present! 🐱
This quick overview of just the highs from this year and doesn’t show any of the lows. Surgery is a fantastic medical advancement but guys, we use our abs for literally everything and I didn’t know just how much until they cut me open and ya girl can’t pick up a plate right now cause it’s too heavy. 🤦🏼♀️
Dealing with health issues this year has been a struggle but I’m hopeful that as this year wraps up I’ll be healing moving into 2018.
What have been your highs and lows this year?
Only two more days to grab a PDF pattern of the Artist Series designs that are in my @etsy store. After tomorrow, many of these will be gone for good!
It’s been such a great year of collaboration and working with some amazing artists. Feeling really blessed to get to do what I do and I am really excited about next year (even though to start with, it’ll be a bit of a slower pace thanks to a fresh little 👶🏼 that will be joining our family in February)! ✨✨✨
