This was in Brasil last October racing with my buddy @quadsworth. There are days when everything comes together like this one, but those special days are the culmination of showing up every day and doing the work (and sometimes “the work” means having the courage to rest when you need it). The achievements, the special days or the race wins are really just the icing on the cake. What really matters, what really makes us strong and resilient and gives our life meaning is our daily actions. Our actions are what define our character and how we navigate through life. It’s easy to get hung up on an end goal, a resolution, or to wish we had something. It’s easy to say “I’ll be happy when...”. But be happy now. Be happy with what you are doing each day to become better, because that is what it’s all about! #brasilride#mtbbrasil
*Edit: I know I need to sort out my helmet strap and I also realise my skinsuit is falling apart. 😂*
Smiling through the pain. Sufferfest on track today with a lot of solo efforts. 1.5km solo, standing 500m and some flying 500m and some TP work. The goal of today was to work on technique and delivering speed although conditions at the velodrome are not very fast at the moment - cold and very high air pressure. We’re all using spoked wheels (instead of discs) and I’m loving my @rideshimano tubular c50 wheels and track hubs - they feel speedy even though the track is slow.
Really looking forward to my rest day tomorrow! 🙌 My legs are FRIED. 👍

From refugee to a professional cyclist, the latest story on develo.co.za is an inspiring one. "I watched no cycling on TV as I’d cry because I couldn’t go out and ride. I ate very little for these two years because I knew without training, this was one way to keep up the fitness. I had nothing else on my mind except becoming a professional cyclist."⠀

Cooler than Magnum P.I.! The Trek Stache is in store and it’s the most fun you can have without wearing a floral shirt and an actual ‘tache (Although you can ride with both of those if you want)
29+ wheels and a lightweight carbon frame make this bike the star of the trail party! Climb, descend & shred with confidence thanks to the relentless grip offered by the wider tyres.
Wheelie into our DM’s if you’re interested in a test ride.
