The male Wood Stork usually builds the nest, but both parents work together to care for their young. Patrick photographed this family at Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Florida.⠀

CHESTNUT-CHEEKED STARLING (Sturnus philippensis) - Male.
Uncommon migrant. Breeds in SE Siberia to N. Japan, and winters in Taiwan, Borneo, Sulawesi and the Philippines.
Taken at Avilon Zoo, Montalban, Rizal on 10/19/17.
Many thanks to Mhark Gee for showing us 2 flocks of 6-8 CCSs feeding on the berries of the many ficus (balete) trees in Avilon Zoo. I have never seen so many CCSs.
It is difficult to get feather details on a CCF because of its smooth plumage and CCFs are often in backlit situations. The male's very white feathers are challenging.
Canon 1DX Mark II camera, Canon 600 mm lens, 1.4x TC, on tripod. F/5.6, ISO-2500, 1/640 second, from 13 meters.
