Hard to believe my Thesis Year at OCAD U was four years ago! 😳
My thesis was on individual perception where I discussed having synesthesia, a neurological condition where two senses are cross-wired (I have grapheme-colour synesthesia, so for every letter, number, day of the week or month of the year I read, I automatically perceive a specific colour with it, e.g 3’s are red, E’s are orange, Wednesdays are purple). These 40x60” acrylic portraits had each subject’s names painted on their eyes in the colours that I perceive them, and it was (thankfully) very well-received by faculty and attendees at our Graduate Exhibition in 2014 💛
