#albumoftheday#gratefuldead "skull and roses" Well, it's a good 14 years later but I just figured out that there's a Dead album that's even better than "Europe 72" maybe "better" is the wrong descriptive word but good lord this one rips!
Today’s #albumoftheday is Gerry Rafferty’s City To City. This was the Scottish folk rock/soft rock musician’s second studio album, released in 1978. After years of legal issues barring Rafferty from releasing another solo record, City To City was finally released. I think that this album is one of the greatest soft rock records of all time, rivaling Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, in my opinion. This was the album that spawned the legendary soft rock hit Baker Street, which features one of the greatest saxophone breaks of all time. Rafferty’s fusion of popular music, Scottish folk, and rock made City To City sound unique, yet comfortably familiar. The Ark sounds like a traditional folk tune, while Whatever’s Written In Your Heart sounds like an Elton John-esque ballad. City To City is relaxing, but had enough rock n’ roll in it to make it exciting at times. Most people only know this album for its mega-popular single, but the entire record is worth listening to from start to finish. If you’re looking for an excellent aural journey that both soothes and excites, give this one a listen. My favorite songs off of this album is The Ark, Baker Street, and Whatever’s Written In Your Heart.
//KIMBERLY: The People I Used to Know//K. Michelle//2017
- K. Michelle with dominate vocals, bouncing between soul, trap, rap, funk, jazz, and pop infused R&B.
- Cuttingly straight forward and not about to back down. See: "Fuck Your Man", "Kim K", and " Takes Two"
- The second half has K belting out anthem after anthem defining her values and defining love for herself. See: "Woman of my Word" and "Brain on Love"
- 21 Tracks is a lot. Really could be split into two different albums.
- The songs can come off pretty basic in the lyrics and in the instrumentation, but K gives zero fucks

Just a snare and a 808
Weezy Baby on the mic, D.O.A
OK, I'd like to thank Kanye
And my nigga Deezle
From giving me this Diesel
Like an F-350
Tank never empty
Damn everybody in the bank act friendly
Used to think my shit didn't stink, boy was I wrong
Approving million dollar deals from my iPhone
I'mma take it one-two-way back
Like a silk wife beater and a wave cap
Or the wave pool
At Blue Bayou
And I waved, fool
As I blew by you
Hello, hi you
I can buy you
But I wouldn't try you
Feed you to Piru
I know what I'm doing
I show and prove
And show improvement
And I know just to go into it
Could never amount to going through it
Whatever, how you wanna do it
We can do it like we late
Deezle, let me just get the 808
As I hit the kill switch
Now, that's how you let the beat build, bitch!"-Lil Wayne #lilwayne#weezy#thecarter3#letthebeatbuild#rap#realrap#lyrical#lyricalbeast#legend#emcee#rapper#neworleans#southernrap#albumoftheday#songlyrics#letsgo
