October 2016:: Spotted. Three young boys hooping while making my way to the track for my run. As I got closer to the court, the staring began. Like a domino effect, they stared at me one after the other. That's when I remembered, ' oh right, I'm different. Oh right, not everyone has seen or knows about vitiligo.’ My thoughts of skoolin’ them real quick disappeared when I heard the words "She looks like a cow" -_-. It was the perfect opportunity to educate them but I decided it was best to ignore because I was too emotionally involved to think straight.I was filled with anger and sadness. Anger because it was such a rude comment, anger because for a split second I failed to remember the lack of education about vitiligo, and it could have easily been someone else that heard these words, someone not as strong as myself. I was also sadden because yes, I do have feelings and that remark went straight to the heart.
Coincidentally this happened on the day of my first vitiligo support group meeting. One lady showed up. Describing the way I was just 4 years ago; not wanting to leave the house, crying every night, always wanting to be in long sleeve clothing to cover up, hating when everyone would stare, whisper and worst, not being able to love oneself.
Living with vitiligo can be emotionally draining. Although it's a lot of self-work required to living with this skin condition, it's also extremely helpful to be surrounded by individuals who are educated about vitiligo so they think twice before making an ignorant comment. So now this is where I ask you, if you know of anywhere (ex. schools, sports programs etc.) that I can spread the awareness of vitiligo, please let me know. You would be helping so many people. Thank you :) [email protected] 📷: @nastia.jpg

Party People- Moe, post a fun after workout progress pic of your prep for your upcoming photo shoot.
Moe Bracy- Now that's where I draw the line! This is getting ridiculous! My Party People don't want to see me dial in for a shoot... and isn't it illegal to take pics in a public locker room?
PP- Yes they do, and yes.
The Butterfly Experience is now open at @lovelandlivingplanet Aquarium! The Painted Lady Butterfly, like most species, are commonly seen drinking the nectar of flowering plants, but is there anything else these delicate beauties feed on? 🦋🦋🦋 Nectar provides a bunch of nutrients for a butterfly, but so do many unconventional sources. For example, a common behavior known as "puddling" occurs when, after a rainfall, male butterflies are found by the masses sucking up the salts and amino acids that will aid in their reproductive processes. Along with this, certain species of butterfly feed primarily on the liquids produced by rotten and decaying animal flesh! Mmmm, protein! 🍖🍖🍖 Now think about this: if you are surrounded by butterflies, but also very sweaty, will you have a better chance of the insects landing on you? Post your findings in the comments below!
