Krept & Konan are undisputedly one of the great success stories that have come out of the U.K. Hip Hop scene and it is no accident. 7Nights is the second part of the dual release of their full project entitled 7days7nights. On this project you can sense that the Thornton Heath duo are aiming to create a piece of work that catered to all their fans. 7Nights is represents the chilled, wavey vibe to their music with the content heavily focused on the ladies.
Krept and Konan have always proved themselves as capable artists in terms of creating a single to generate a strong buzz for themselves. It can be said that the where the pair have developed brilliant singles, their projects as whole have not quite matched up. Here once again, with the release of so much content they may have spread themselves slightly too thin. With 7Nights you get the feeling that you may be listening to different variations of the same song.
It does go without saying though there are undeniable bangers to check out on this part of EP. ‘Wrongs’ featuring the sultry sounds of Jhene Aiko presents an interesting collaboration, hinting at their growing reputation abroad with audiences. ‘Same Shit’ featuring Canada’s own Tory Lanez is a definite vibe, allowing for the pair to combine their sound as lyrical rappers with this auto tune approach found on this part of the EP. This EP will throw out gems at the right time for the right person in the right circumstance to appreciate individual songs.

Rappers that can equally make great harder edged tracks and softer styled songs are usually more successful than their less flexible peers. Croydon’s finest, Krept & Konan have recently profited off their ability to do both. They are so confident in their ability to play both sides of the musical coin that they have dropped twin mixtapes, 7 Days and 7 Nights.
7 Days is the mixtape aimed mainly at the mandem. Featuring more aggressive beats from the likes of Swifta Beater and Adotskitz. Krept & Konan deliver brash and brazen lyrics throughout the mixtape with aplomb. Features from Skepta and Stormzy do not disappoint, maintaining the high standards that the lead artists set. R.A.’s feature on Khalas may be a shock to some with his delivery and lyrical dexterity shining on that track. Krept’s version of Eminem’s Slim Shady flow on ‘Sauce’ shows just how talented a rapper he is, whilst Konan’s abilities are not to be forgotten either with his verse on Ask Flipz showing his usual clever word play.
Splitting the mixtapes was definitely a good idea. 7 Days allowed Krept & Konan to unleash their aggressions without having to worry about alienating their female audience. They delivered a series of tracks that will be rinsed all winter and that won’t sound dated anytime soon. Matt_Earsauce
