This is @mrsreynolds3816 and she's another fabulous lady joining me at the Women's Running Race Series Manchester 10k next month. She's completed her first 10k only recently. 🏃🏼♀️
She says: "I've been running for just over a year...sort of! At this point I should probably admit that I hate running. Don't get me wrong, I love the high afterwards but the physical act of getting out there and actually doing it, isn't something I look forward to. I do it because I know it is good for me! 🏃🏼♀️
"My initial motivation started with my wedding dress and then I ran a marathon distance in a month for Macmillan. Long working days and dark nights meant running took a back seat throughout winter but a drunken agreement on New Year's Eve saw me get back at it. 🏃🏼♀️
"With help from a training plan from Michelle, I completed my first 10k in Lincoln in April this year! I swore that would be my first and last time but I also realise I need motivation to keep running. No motivation means no running and with this in mind, and following the death of a good friend's mum, I signed up to do the 100k for £100 for dementia awareness, just in time to hurt my back at work! 🏃🏼♀️
"Having found my running mojo again, I'm looking forward to the Manchester 10k because it will be the first time I have run on my home turf. I was born and bred in Manchester and still know so many people there. I'll use training to rack up some kilometres for my sponsored project and aim to be quicker than the 1.17.05 I completed my last one in!
"My proudest moment so far? My first thought is completing the Lincoln 10k but when I really think about it, it was the day I downloaded the Couch to 5k app, laced up my trainers and put one foot in front of the other!"
Look forward to seeing your there Miriam. Thanks once again to race sponsors @boobydoobras for asking us to put a team together.
